Default Fresh From the Pass

Well LocalOkie& myself set out early in the morning to fight the fog and some sheeps. Could have sliced it with a knife it was so thick out and wewould'nt have made it anywhere if we didn't use the trusty compass.lol Anyhow we had to go heard some sheep's yesterday at the pensacola pass with everyone and their mom. What a blast though. Also the Spanish were out in numbers but very finicky on bait selection.

whalersailor (3/30/2008)Those "spanish" look like juvie kings to me. If so, do not get caught with them under 24". The curving drop in the lateral line at the second dorsal is the key. And - juvie kingscan have spots.
those look like spanish to me, the black dorsal fin is key for spanish.

btw nice catch :clap

I was fishing with Beast819 yesterday. They are definitely Spanish. The lateral line would have a very sharp dip in it if they were kings.

We caught the sheeps in Pcola pass on live shrimp. The spanish were pretty finicky, but we caught one on live shrimp and caught some on tiny minnow streamer flies that are normally used for catching freshwater trout.
