Default Flounder, trout, sea bass and mullet

Bull minnows and whitebait fished on a slip sinker rig in 6-18 feet of water. Released several speckled trout and a pile of small flounder. It's good to see all the small flatties this year, maybe it's a sign of things to come. Caught a few mullet and dipped up a soft-shell crab. Gonna be a fine supper.

Used to catch those humphead black sea bass off Tarpon Springs. They are tasty. Nice mess of fish.

Sorry, what is 'whitebait'?

Nice haul! I would love to figure out how to somewhat consistently target flounder with hook and line... just not enough time on the water to figure it all out!

Scaled sardines, aka pilchards, greenbacks, whitebait and several other names. The key to flounder, like most predator fish, is structure. Pilings, rocks, oyster bars, wrecks, artificial reefs. It does take a little time to find the most preferred spots, but once you find them, the catching is pretty easy.
