Default Escambia Bay

I'm new to fishing Escambia bay and I was wondering if someone can give me some good areas to fish for trout, redfish and flounder?

Thanks,

The thing about Escambia and Blackwater is that there are pretty good numbers of fish in very few spots. Nobody is going to be to generous with giving out detailed info to you. You're going to have to do it like the rest of us and put the time in.

If it was me, I'd hit any river/creek mouth and throw gold spoons or gulps.

You can cover a lot of ground either with a trolling motor if you have one or let the wind push you along a shoreline and cast towards it and work back into deeper water. Especially early morning and right before sunset try trowing a top-water up against shore and working it back over deeper water.

Have fun, and if you see a 16ft blue Kayak out there, it could be me so don't run me over please.

My aunt lives near garcon point and I fish from my kayak in the bay when I visit. This would be north of the toll bridge on the west side of bay. An old boat ramp is close to her house and a fish reef is due east of this ramp. From before daylight to 8:30am I catch some good specks, reds, and flounder around this reef everytime if the tide is moving. The grass beds that have deeper water are also good going towards the bridge. But if nothing is unique about the bottom you won't get a bite just fishing the grass.I fish with a jointed rapala 5.5 inch model that is black on top and gold on the sides or live shrimp under a cajun thunder when bite is slow.

Are you referring to the ramp at dickerson city or at the end of Garcon point?
