Default Destin Redfishing on the Katie Anne

This morning I had the pleasure of taking some representatives from Penn Reels and Berkely fishing. I have been out of town so much this winter that yesterday I spent a couple hours checking things out to make sure I had them located for these guys. It was easy yesterday, three fish to 18 lbs in shallow water in pretty quick time all sight casting. Obviously they have tails and must have used them because today they weren't where they were and an hour and a half into the trip I was sweating it. Right about the time I was considering plans c,d,or e we found the motherlode. In a couple hours we caught 7 fish from 13 to 30 lbs all in less than four feet and all on soft plastics. The guys were stoked and it was really fun fishing with them. We fished a new bait that Berkely is coming out with, aswimming shrimp kind of like a tsunami jerk bait, that is pretty impressive. The weight is internal and it really has great action.Keep an eye outforitat the stores.

Hey Flyliner, Pat, yeah its always a good idea to pre-fish an area before taking out clients, especially Penn representives. All I fish with is Penn reels!!! I have 2 430ss's, one aluminum, my baby, and one graphite, still awesome!!! I bought a pair of Redhead Bonedry waders from BassProShops, boot-foot style, of course, and am anxious to start wading the north flats in Choctawhatchee Bay for large spring specks!!! I love creeping up on them!!! In the old days I would go in withjust board shorts.Either I'm getting too old or its gettingto colddo that anymore. Glad to hear you put them on the fish, as usual. Soft plastics always produce.

aahhh dont give it away
What is there to give away? It's common knowledge if you know Choctawhatchee Bay, one of the most exposed spots.

Oh jeez...most of them are oversized...let me go ahead and say they are under the bridge and at the jetties too...not to mention all the nearshore wrecks. Seriously why is everyone so shiesty with fishing knowledge.

Bullseye!!! Said person may know spots, but if you are not prepared, aka. soft plastics, hard lures, and live bait on the right tide, time, moon, for that spot, you will catch far less fish.
