Default Cobia in Perdido Bay

OK we went out this afternoon to kill some time. Stopped within sight of Pirate's Cove, started drifting Winn Dixie shrimp for sail cats, just foolin around.

Couple of white trout hit. Then the drag on the better half's reel starts screaming! This is 10 lb line on a Bass Pro spinning special (the pinfish rod) so I was thinking BIG sail cat.

Nope, something kinda jumped. Sail Cats never do that. Almost spooled her then it got almost docile. It stayed up top and I could see a fin -- thought shark? No too dark and stout.

Got it to the boat and saw the cobia stripes -- not quite legal length but fun anyway.

Of course it saw the boat and got pissed -- pulled the hook finally. Great fight though.

Never have seen one in that part of the bay before. Made the day.

Was this when all the dumb asses were killing them? Just leaving them to die on the bridge.
