We set up lights on pensacola beach pier 3-4 years ago (when it was still ok to do cool sh*t on the pier) and jigged up some squid durning the summer months. haven't heard of anyone doing this at pickens though.

Them were the days....we caught many of squirters on the pier when I was younger.....The Asian guys that were out there always wanted what we didn't use....Ahhhhh the days of jellyfish piled so thick you could walk across them to the base, along with the red stomachs and faces from getting stung:banghead ahhhh memories:letsdrink

I netted squid at pickens before the hurricane. haven't tried for a while because the pier was closed, and they still don't have electriicity. Getting too late in the year now. I suggest you CATCH AND KEEP A SAILFISH....that's for all you huys commenting on Chris's sail.

tell them how good it ate next time Chris !!

Rusty, you can net those squid at Perdido Pass at night pretty much the same way. You can catch them in the fall decently but spring time is the best usually mid-march through April. I've caught some up to 18 inches in there before, big enough to use for sword bait.
