Default APRIL 4 WIND REPORT

I finally made it over to the land of the clear water. Only it wasn't</DIV>all that clear, however, better water than my home waters of Mobile</DIV>Bay. We put in near the beach bridge and struck out for Live Oaks. </DIV>After making it out into the ICW I quickly decided it wasn't a great</DIV>idea in the little G3. So I headed towards Little Sabine(I guess its</DIV>called). </DIV></DIV>We fished out way into the more protected lagoon and headed for</DIV>the southern shore line. Started a drift across the no motor zone.</DIV>Once we reached the grass/oyster beds I felt much better about</DIV>our situation. About my 8th-10th cast I had my first hook up, my</DIV>first in 5 months. Turns out to be a really nice PERFECT redfish</DIV>in the 32-34" range. Wouldn't you know I didn't bring my camera.</DIV>I spotted a LEO in a Contender and was wondering if what we</DIV>were doing was legal. Once he came up to us and we shot the</DIV>breeze with him I asked about the situation. "on a day like today</DIV>I doubt you will see anyone else doing it, and I'm surely not going</DIV>to stop you." VERY COOL FELLA we need more like him!</DIV></DIV>We made a few more drifts and did end up going all the way back</DIV>in the lagoon (I guess it is). I picked up a nice upper slot sized </DIV>speck and had a few more bumps. My partner had a hook up </DIV>but because of all the snags he just wrote it off as another one</DIV>not setting the hook well enough.</DIV></DIV>After several hours of being on the water I pointed the little skiff</DIV>back to the ramp. I was sure glad to visit my old stomping grounds,</DIV>just wish my padna would have hung one, the water was more clear,</DIV>and the wind wasn't so damn bad. </DIV></DIV>BUT IT WAS BETTER THAN BEING HOME!!!</DIV>
