Default 3 mile bridge Sunday afternoon

My son and I put in at the Gulfbreeze side of 3mile Bridge and ran out to the north side of the barge tender at the hump. There must have been 50+ boats up and down the bridge. Using Gulps new penny and cut bait 1 white trout and 2 small black drum. Very slow bite but a beautiful day to run the boat. The Coast Guard was out running in Their small boat and ran down a boat with lights and siren that cut in front of another boat right at the barge tender going to the west. Almost caused a close call for a collision. Be safe out there and use courteous boating safety as this was a good teaching experince for my son. He's 13 and I'm starting to let him drive me around in the boat so he can learn safe boating rules. Fish on and cook'em up from Fishindad1 and fishinkid1.

Sounds like a good day on the water. I took my two sons out Saturday night, it was also slow except for the unlimited supply of white trout.

Thanks for the info...I too allow my 14 yr old son drive and have for the last few years. Last year the CC inspected my boat at the launch and thissubject discussed. I was told as long asI was on the vessel perfectly ok for him to drive...If my son has boaters license then my presence not needed...I'm sure I got this wrong though. We both will register soon andattend class together,,It'll be a great refresher for me too!

Thanks for the info!

You got it right. If you are there no boater license is required. I've been letting my grand son (12) run my boat from launch to time to pull out. By summer he will be ready to be on his own. Going to get him in a boaters course as soon as I can find one.

Thanks for the info!
