Default 3 Mile 11-6-08 Nicoles fish

Went out to 3MB around 6:30 we weren't there 5 min and Nicole is pulling in her first slot red. I was targeting ribbon fish for some of the SKA guys fishing the national tournament in a few weeks. Nicole caught fish after fish, reds a nice fat 26inch and a 29inch, white trout like 30 of them, and one fish I dont even know what the hell it was. Me and my buddy went out Monday and couldnt catch a slot for anything, so at least we got to bring one home tonight. Even though she caught all the reds I still had fun with those ribbons they were skying all night.

Nicoles 29 inch red on light tackle

Her slot

and i dont know

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????

Sorry no pictures of her white trout and my ribbon fish. If you have been to 3 mile latley I am sure you know what they look like.:letsdrink:letsdrink

That fish looks like an oyster fish, named because that is what they eat.

Tell me, how do you target the ribbons, we are heading out again soon and would like to try to keep some as we spoke about on Wednesday Night Meet Up at the Oar House.

PM with an avenue to dispose of those Ribbons.

Nice job Nicole.

Yea that's a oyster fish, but we call them "mother inlaws". You can probable guess why.

Capt. John Rivers (11/7/2008)If your looking for ribbon fish for next season's king bite or just to use as cut bait. You can catch all you want for the next few weeks at 3-MB..

1/8oz - 1/4oz jig head with just about any small berkley glup.. 40lb mono leader as these guys have sharp teeth........ just slowly reel it back to the boat or slowly jig it backand it's fish on. I got some fornext seasons King fishing season. Slow trolled on a down rigger or medium trolling weight these ribbon fish are great for kings.

Tight Lines..
That is almost exactly what I did to target those ribbons. The only thing I did different is used a small steel leader, the biggest mono I had on board was only 20lb and they bit that right in half. Very good advice you put out there Capt. Rivers, hope I meet you out there one day.
