Default What to think about the fat barracuda taking up residence under my boat?

I noticed a large fish (36"-40")hanging out under the hull of my boat while fishing (the submerged jetty) in the pass...
once I realized it was a barracuda, I chased him off a couple times with the rod tip and the gaff, but he kept coming back.
I figured he might be after any fish I caught. I'm guessing he would have gone after a hooked fish coming to the boat.
I eventually free lined a pin fish underneath the boat, but only came up with a large feisty remora.
Is this going to be a common nemesis similar to the Flippers hanging around the boat?
Chillin' the most.

I used to put a wire leader on with a treble hook on it, barely hook a cigar minnow on the back and just lower into the water. It drove the barracudas nuts and I got them to strike every time. That usually got rid of them after being hooked
