Default What reel to match with this rod?

7'1" g loomis gl2, I've got it narrowed between a spin fisher 4500 or a daiwa ballistic 3000, any opinions?

I think you will find the Spinfisher a bit heavy for that rod, even in a 3500 size. I have no experience with Diawa other then their Saltist line. Have you given thought to the Stradic (I prefer FJ) or Quantum Smoke?

A friend of mine has a Smoke/GL2 combo and it is nice.

That 3500V will be WAY too heavy for the Loomis rod. Go with the Ballistic. You won't be disappointed. If I'm not mistaken Pompano Joe has a 3k size one loaded with braid that is on the market. He was going to give me a great deal on it. PM him & ask him if you're interested because I'm almost positive that he still has it.

I have to agree with The Pit. The Smoke is a great reel. They are smooth and have awesome drags. The shimano spheros is a good option too

Spin fisher 4500 never been one to care too much about weight. Balance has always been what I looked for. I hate a reel that wobbles when you reel. All the others mentioned i have noticed the wobble on but they are all great reels. Its just another one of my OCD's haha

I bought a ballistic 3000 this year and I love it. I have several Stradics but I am slowly switching to all Daiwa.
