Default West Bay PC bound?

Hey fishing peeps.

I've been hearing a bit about West Bay being a cool spot to check out. I've been dabbling in Choctawhatchee Bay getting some trout and reds, but I'm thinking about a taking a bit of a road trip tomorrow (5/21). I'd be doing a solo trip if I went, as I have the day off. Going to be throwing plugs because my boat won't really allow for livebait. Just wondering how the bites been over yonder and if it's worth the fuel. I hear they have much richer grass flats over there.

Tight lines

West Bay is just something different to fish really. This year there is so much stained water, the grass really hasn't filled in yet. 10 years ago the place was full of reds in giant schools. Now most of the schools have been hammered over the years and they are some of the toughest redfish to catch. I remember the days when all we did was stake out and wait for a school of 200-300 fish to cruise by, now you have to run all over to find a pod of fish.

It has definitely gotten harder to fish over the years due to the pressure, no doubt.

I haven't fished it this year because how stained it has been.
