Default Wading or shoreline?

I don't have a boat so I'm limited to wading and shore fishing now. Places like scenic chimney park, Pickens, shoreline park in gb - can you catch anything from shore or am I gonna need to get wet (or in a kayak!)?

Been down around scenic highway a few times but no luck from shore (and OF COURSE it couldn't be operator error.....)

Thanks in advance.

Default try this

there is a place in gb you can go to and get some nice sized specks and reds this time of year but why wouldnt you just go fish the octagon at sikes or the color change?. i fished off of scenic highway only once and never had any luck catching anything more than a good buzz. its a deadzone unless you go out at night with a light and a gig then you could try flounder gigging or something

@calm-

Okay, so octagon at sikes - is that the little pier at the GB side of the bridge, on the right as you go to the beach?

Also, what's the color change -

Sorry, may be stupid questions but want to make sure I know where you're talking about. Is the GB spot you're talking about around shoreline park?

Thanks - appreciate your help.

beenalongtime; Your options are wide open. I think the color changes referred to above are spots where the sandy bottom either drops off to deeper water or sandy 'potholes' are in the grass flats. When you wade in off Scenic Hwy you have to look for those types of bottoms, which can be out far unless you're near structure or a curve. There are plenty of spots around Gulf Breeze Naval Live Oaks or Sanders Beach, Navy Point areas where you don't need to go in far.Explore and enjoy finding your next honey hole.
