Default Wading in the Santa Rosa Sound

Where is a good place to access the sound for wading in the Navarre/Gulf Breeze area? It seems like it's mostly private property and I def respect peoples private property. I get that once your in the water that doesn't really apply though. I've had great success around the Half Hitch area, but I can only get so far down because I can't get past the docks.

Also, is it kosher to walk under docks when they're high enough?

I'm not sure about City ordinances in Navarre but I'd expect they're similar to Gulf Breeze and Pensacola where I have most of my experience wading in the Sound. If you go to say Shoreline park in Gulf breeze and walk West you can get all the way down and around to the other side of Gulf Breeze wading under docks or walking on the sand below high tide line. That's ALL public access so they can't run you off.

Now with all that said, BE RESPECTFUL! Don't leave trash behind and if you see any trash washed up on the sand pick as much up as you can carry. If someone does give you a hard time it's best to give them space.

Good luck!
Alex

I was just at that park for an offshore trip 2 weeks ago, it looked promising for wading...thanks!
