Tips for fishing at night
Hey guys, i've fished at night, but never in a boat. Any tips for fishing at night inshore? How dark does it get out there? Do you use supplemental lighting? Any help would be great to make it easier to transition into.
So far these are the obvious ones I've thought of:
Proper boat lighting (have clamp-on navigational lights)
Only fish in areas that I'm familiar with

Find dock lights, look for fish smacking the top. Ease up to it, no noise. Stay about 50 ft away. Throw into the shadows and work back into the light. Start away from the dock, and work your way toward it on each successive cast. You can strip fish away without startling the others and end up with more fish.
