Default Steinhatchee scalloping questions...

Since PSJ doesn't open till the kids go back to school I want to take them on a trip to Steinhatchee to scallop. I don't know where to start though. Where to put in? Where are the general populations? Where to stay? Have you ever been there? Willing to help a brother out?

TIA!

Look up Shell Island Fish camp in St Marks. It has the lodging, ramp and scallops. Also has the clear cool water up the Wakulla (sp) river to cool off after a day of snorkeling. Great place. We went a lot when we lived in S GA.

We did my first scallop trip in Keaton Beach last weekend and got a bunch. It was my first time going, so I don't really know what to tell you except for look for the flotilla of boats and start close to them.
