Default Staying with family

Hey everyone...coming down for Spring break and we stay with family across from Walmart in Navarre.

I bring the kayaks with me and we can launch in the subdivision. In past years i bring my surf rod for the beach and usually my fresh water rigs for the sound.

This year i'd like to purchase a rod/reel combo that is made for fishing the sound.

I'd also like to purchase from a local shop when i get down there as opposed to buying the local guys out a little.

1. Recommend a mid level combo that i can fish the sound with and also bring back to the Ozarks and fish some of the rock bottom rivers for smallies.

2. Recommend a good tacke/bait shop that is in Navarre proper...don't want to go to Pensacola or Destin if i can avoid it...don't like crowds.

Half Hitch in Navarre gets all of my business. A penn Battle 2 in a 2-3000 size will probably fit your needs. Half hitch custom rods have treated me well for sharks, but I cannot speak for any of their others..

Broxsons hands down best in the area. Half Hitch is a joke.
