I've thown a basic spinnerbait but had no luck on them. However I've removed the "duster" and replaced with a soft swimbait and had success...its similar to the redfish majic lure that walmart sells after the mod..

Oh yeah! Redfish Magic and Cajun Spin style (make sure it's GOLD!!!) clip-on spinner baits are fantastic for covering a lot of water and drawing reaction strikes. I like to use a heavier (1/4oz or more) jighead to keep the lure close to the bottom, more chances at a flounder too. Also, a paddle tail style soft plastic with a lot of motion. Cast and reel parallel to structure, like docks, rock piles, salt marsh grass edges.

Good luck, let us know how you do.

Fished one for the first time last weekend. It was a lousy day but the spinner was the only bait that caught any keepers. Im sold.
