Default Spanish question

While reports reveal tons of Spanish, I failed to find any yesterday East of Pensacola Pass. No birds, but I hear they are not schooling up now. Right or wrong ? Anyway, is there a location(e.g. ?first sandbar, ?second sandbar, ?near the beach, ?past the second sand bar, etc where i should troll to find Spanish ????

Any advice as to where to find them rather than trial and error would be appreciated. AJ

We absolutely tore the spanish up between the 1st and second sandbar yesterday. We started trolling just beyond the last sandbar and didn't have but one fish in like 30-45 min of trolling. As soon as we crossed that first bar we were getting hit as soon as the bait was in the water. We eventually stopped trolling and just started throwing Got-Cha plugs and were getting them on almost every cast. Not too sure why they were only between the bars, but that's what we found. We fished just east of the Pensacola pass about a mile or two down.

we have been fishing the tide line just inside the pass and tearing them up. as you come in the pass go sraight and drift to the right stay in the tide line and you should fill the boat. we were using chrome rattle traps and a crome and blue minnow all from walmart

Saw small groups swimming around off Destin while cruising for Cobia the last couple weeks. Some boats yesterday saw no Cobia but stopped to catch spanish 4 at a time. They were in big bunches inside Pensacola pass towards the base two weeks ago. Since then haven't seen many big groups of them either.
