Default Sound(or if that is what you call it) fishing???

I will be staying at Tristan Towers this weekend on Pensacola Beach and I have heard of good fishing in the "Sound". Most reports I have read recommend throwing spoons or jigs with a trailer. What is the best approach to catching some fish in the sounds or beach? I'm an avid fisherman in the Midwest, but have limited salt water fishing. I would like to fish with lures and perhaps just throw out some cut bait and/or shrimp and relax on the beach as well. Any help on baits, spots, and general recommendations would help a ton. Thanks

DarrinV8,
Great news to you, there's a fantastic new artificial reef Soundside at the last parking lot, just before Ft Pickens. You MUST go check it out!
