Rigs/bait for Pensacola fishing
Howdy all. Going to be visiting Pensacola with the family next week and bringing along the boat. We are planning on hitting the bays and grass flats for specks, reds, and anything else tasty, but my question is what typical rigs and bait are used for the grass beds? Our default in Texas is popping corks with live shrimp for specks, but is there a better strategy here?
Also any recommendations for pompano fishing around Pensacola? I know Ft morgan, al is usually a good spot but dont want to travel quite that far
Any advice is much appreciated!

Welcome to the matrix.
There is only one bait that will produce in these waters, and that is the Matrix shad!
Sorry just kidding.
Ya you will do just fine with a popping cork and some flora carbon. Try behind Ft McRae in the no motor zone.
Shrimp are great, silver dollar size pin fish are best.
Push your boat up to the bank and walk over to the other side for some surf fishing Pompano/ private beach action.
Now that is the local hook up.
Welcome to the coast enjoy your stay and what ever you do, don't take the blue pill.
