Default Redfish bites........

Sat night was my first time getting into a school of Red's, where I could really see how they act bite after bite with live bait (Shrimp). I would notice a hit, then a hit again and again before they would actually hit the bait, my question is do red's attempt to kill the bait before actually trying to eat it ? I would feel anywhere from three to ten hits before they would actually hit and eat the bait, and it was like this all night with every live shrimp. Is this typical ?

I have always found that they hit it pretty hard. Could have been pinfish or something pecking at your bait at first and thena redfish ate it.

I would have thought that except this was ten redfish caught and each time the same thing.

You probably felt your shrimp trying to get away from them.
