Default Port St. Joe help please.

We decided to call an audible head to PSJ this weekend. Can anyone tell me a sure fire place to get on some redfish. Also what bait to use. We usually use gulp shrimp on poppin corks 18" leader with a jig head. If there is a better bait I'll take that input as well. Also where is a good place to put in the boat. Thanks in advance guys

St. Joe bay reds are notorious for being like ghosts. They're spooky due to the clear water anyway; and combine that with scallop season boating traffic and you get a tough bite. In that area I'd try my luck around Indian Pass or St. George Island for reds.

So do you think I would be better off heading on down to apalachacola either way it's just gonna be a day trip sun up to sundown. I just really want to get into some redfish since I have worse than bad luck on redfish in Panama City and destin this year.

Definitely. I can't put you right on top of fish because I don't chase redfish that often but I do know for a fact that the red fishing is better in the App. bay system than in St. Joe. Do some research on Indian Pass Lagoon, the various well know oyster bars in App. bay (picalene bar, dry bar, etc.), and the passes (or "cuts" as they call them down there) on either end of St. George Island.

Also, PM sent.
