Default Pinfish from Shore

I'm taking my father out on a charter this thursday and i'd like to bring some live pinfish in a bucket to throw off the back for kings and drop on the bottom as well.

Can anyone give me some advice on public locations from shore somewhere between 87 in Navarre and Harborwalk in Destin that I could throw a 10' cast net or sabiki up some decent sized ones? Thanks!

Get to your charter early, and you can get all you want right there at the dock. Just bring a small cup of squid to chum them up and throw the net on them.

bluzgator I had thought about that. I wasn't sure if it was allowed at harbor walk there. There's a lot of crap on the bottom to get your net snagged on isn't there? I guess I could bring the cheapo 6 foot net I bought to practice with a couple years ago.

Last year I walked out on the dock behind the house with a hotdog and sabiki rig. 10 minutes later I had a bucket full of pins. I imagine with a cast net it would go a lot faster.

X2 on the hotdog Sabiki combo. This works Great if you are somewhere you don't want to throw a net. I also use a trap I got at walmart with a hotdog in it. 5 mins and it's full.

Get some chicken wings and a trap. Make sure they have bones in the wings. The pins will tear them up.

thanks for the suggestions everyone. Ckflyer13, i have a trap that I set outside my house but where I live doesn't produce many pinfish, and with all the freshwater the gators have ventured out of the rivers and trashed my last trap a couple weeks ago haha.

That sucks lol. If u get another, u may need a license but I don't think you do, u can try what I said and go down to a marina that's on the way out that will let u tie ur trap to the dock. Then on the way out grab the pins and head out with a full live well. BUT u might need a license. I'm not sure. Tight Lines!!!
