Default Pass open or not?

Does anyone know if the pass is open or not? I am getting mixed answers. I went out Monday afternoon and couldnt get through, but I heard of people that went out earlier in the day. Did it get closed that aftermoon or what?

Doing it, and doing it well!

i think they are letting you out on an outgoing tide, lowers the chances of oil getting past the boom if the water is moving outward...
