Default Orange Beach?

I fish out of Pensacola, will I get in trouble if I fish for snappers in state waters off of Orange Beach even though I only have a FL. fishing license?

Orange Beach is in Alabama which is a different state than Florida.

But no, you won't get in trouble until they catch you fishing without proper license.

Yep, once you've passed the FloraBama- you're in Alabama. And these guys check, regularly! Have had them approach me at the Trolling Corridor (8 miles out) - so, better to stay in FL waters, or get the AL license.

If you can afford to run over to Alabama and saltwater fish from Florida, the non-res. license just isn't that expensive? I get both so I can go fish around Ono and not have to worry about it.
