Default Not having the best of luck...

Lately I have been trying some grass flats on mainly the south side of big lagoon because of the way the winds are blowing with no luck. I've caught a several ladyfish but no reds or trout. I've tried topwaters, matrix shad, mirrolures, and live shrimp. Typically I will do pretty well in this area fishing like with what I said above. I'm fishing 2-6 feet of water. What tide is working for y'all or is it either early morning or late afternoon? Any tips to help me out is greatly appreciated. Also, how do y'all fish for flounder in the sound? I'm one that struggles with bumping the bottom with soft plastics. Maybe live finger mullet or shrimp on the bottom? I'm hoping that my problem is just lack of luck and that its just a matter of time before i get on the fish!

Big Trout and Redfish in the grass. The time of day and falling tides make all the difference. Real early morning and late evenings just before sunset if you are fishing swallow water are your best bet. Your flounder will be in deeper water during the day light hours. Live bait works well but the pinfish can make it hard for the flounder to get a chance at the live bait. That is why most fishermen target flounder with artificial. Plenty of fish being caught now but when the water warms up even more they will move deep and mostly only feed at night. Good luck

I like to get out there about an hour before daylight. It seem like I have the best luck then. It's usually over by 9:00-9:30.
