Default need help with changing a flats trip to a trip to Destin

Was planning on spending 3 days over in the Big Bend area, but my sources tell me that the trout really haven't got right yet and its hit or miss, but it is getting better and could bust loose any day....with our schedules and work our trip really needs to be this coming Thur/Fri/Sat so we are thinking about taking our first trip to Destin....

We were thinking we might try for sheephead and maybe try for trout and reds in the bay.....

Are the Sheephead still around the Destin Bridge????

If looking for trout, what would be a good place to start??

We have a 22' bay boat so any input on the best place to put in for the fastest access to what we are looking for would be greatly appreciated...I hate going in blind, but the wife really wants a couple of days away and our 11 year old son is chomping at the bit to get his 1st sheephead

thanks in advance for any input or advise

Sheepshead bite should still be decent around the bridge. Reds are on the flats and there are still some bulls around. Joe's Bayou ramp or Destin Marina both have quick access to the bridge. Marler Park and Adventure Marina both have ramps on the island in FWB if you wanna fish the sound or east side of bay.

Better look at the weather forecast for our area during that time period.
