Default My 12 days fishing in Destin

Here's a report from another site where I've been a member for years now. It says about all I have to say on the matter. There may or may not be some good info in here for a few folks, you'll never know unless you read it!

My fishing vessel for the time was my sister's 24' party barge. After 12 days in it (and $100+ of fuel) I felt like I'd been run over, but it got me on the water and I made the best of it. There were many more places that I wanted to fish, but with the price of fuel and the MPG of a party barge at any reasonably fast speed, that just didn't pan out!

Great read, thanks for all of your reports. I can't wait to get back up your way to the Little Red River and the White River for the trout fishing!

I used to be a trout fishing fool many years back but lost the zeal for the Little Red after Rip Collins caught that world record brown. After that happened there were so many people on the river and so much pressure that my sightings of really nice fish in the coontail moss went down drastically. Seeing that I basically don't even start fishing an area until I spy some worthy targets, I lost the drive to be there.

The White is a whole other world, FULL of monsters, one of which I've hooked and fought to boat side on 6 lb test only to have the Shad Rap simply fall out of it's mouth as I was pulling it to the net!!!!!!
