Default ly's

I need to net some ly's in the Pcola area for Snapper season. Has anyone seen the schools around?

Much appreciated

Put in at Archie Glover, went up to Macay cove, then down to Garcon point & up to Catfish basin. Absolutely no bait pods

Saw a small pod of very small Dolphins standing on their heads eating catfish. Pitched a grub at a few spots that usually produce & zip

Put in at shoreline looking for bait (no joy) then went out to the gulf. Water quality looked really good about 5 miles east. Saw a lot of small bait pods in the gulf but nothing in the bay.

Motored out to some public stuff to check for fish & most were covered with fish. Trolled a green stretch 25 & caught a 33" king.

Headed back in & ran into a huge bait pod. We thru sabikis at them for 2 hours & got about 200 baits. Mostly northern mackerel with a few cigs mixed in. The cigs were really shy about hitting & mostly wanted to hide under the boat

There are no LYs anywhere in this region. There are TONS of menhaden, at times...

Finally found some Menhaden/LY's at GotBait in Pace. Good looking bait at a very fair price. Had a nice chat with the owner Justin. He is a very polite young man and goes out of his way to help make your fishing even better. I'm looking forward to getting my bait from him.

Yeah it has, you been doing alright? Haven't been out in Balckwater much, been doing more surf and pier fishing. Seems like every time the weather improves to go in the bay it goes to crap again.

You been doing any good?

On the water before 0600. Start fishing Bay Point to Peterson Point to Grassy Point to Escobito Point to the center of East Bay and not get a single hit and that was with 2 in the boat. Head home at noon. Did that twice. Then once alone and picked up 1 rat Red at Grassy Point. Lets see---that should equal 1 rat Red for 137,427 casts. Not too bad if you were trying NOT to catch fish!!! Not giving up! I'm gonna try the same pattern one day next week if only 1 day will clear up. But there is so much "new" water now that has probably ran everything out. SOUNDS JUST LIKE THIS SAME TIME LAST YEAR!!!
