Default landlocked newbie seeking wisdom

Two questions. 1) Does anybody in the area fish for triple-tails. 2) If I understand correctly...they follow more of an inshore/offshore migration to a specific region (ex. florida panhandle exclusively)which would in a way make them hit or miss and more difficult to consistantly locate. Is that true? Vacation time is coming up and before I start my new job I'm trying to figure out what species I would like to go for while I'm there...besides the reds and trout and maybe a shark or two. After thinking about it...a third question. Is it the wrong time of year for them (TT's) all together?

They are not targeted much at all in the Pensacola area unless you come across them hanging around floating objects.

Mobile Bay is famous for them and I guess they stay there at least until the water cools. Perhaps a Mobile Bay fisherman can comment here.

Thanks for the info...I'm shooting for being there Oct 1st-8th and will likely be fishing both sides of Pensacola pass, around the mouth of the black river (my dad who lives in Milton has a Hobie two-man yak and wants to fish for stripers), and the jetties at Destin pass.
