Default kings and water temp?

What water temp is too cold for kings. I'm wondering because I've been fishing for kings in the bay. I caught 7 on Sat and only 1 on Sun. I think I'm gonna give it another shot in the morning.

70 is usually the cutoff but they will certainly slow down once the temp is below 74 or so.

Offshore, they will hang around deeper structure all the way into December and I've caught them in 66 degree water in January on structure that was holding a ton of bait.

Like Chris said, around 70 degrees, but you'll never know if you're sitting at home!

Deeper structure is going to be your best bet for kings, slow trolled live bait with maybe a little weight on it is what I like in the colder months.

I hang it up once its in the low 70's. However, I have seen some absolute giants in 69-70 water in the spring while looking for ling!

Saw a large king attack some bait and breach the water at Graffiti bridge, on Saturday morning. Got about 5' of air and was within 10' of a mirrolure I was throwing.

Nah. That wasn't me. There were two guys unloading a boat when it happened, so I am guessing it was one of them? Or I *think* there might have been an older gentleman there too when it happened. I can't remember what time he rolled in. We left by 10am.
