Default Inshore tackle help

OK I think I need some guidance from you inshore guru's.. Ive been fishing and the last 3 times Ive thrown everything except my yak paddle with fish busting all around me.. and caught nothing. Best ive done is with some split tail gulps on a jig head.. but they grab the body not the hooks.

Maybe you guys can offer some tackle choice to help me build my yak tackle box.
Ive thrown jighead/gulps, DOA shimp, a shallow stick bait, I dont have any top water lures so I need some input there I have also thrown a paddle tail shad.
Thanks in advance

Up there I do well off new penny gulp shrimp on a jig worked on the bottom or a gold spoon. Work the shrimp real slow and the and the spoon with just enough speed to make it move. I was starting to do well of the red and white ghost shrimp when i left. If i can see the reds the gulp works best and if i see signs of fish the gold spoon worked best.

Depending on what your fishing for but in my experences with reds and specks, just because there is bait busting around you doesn't mean there is something eating them.I've seen huge schools of croakers and lys cast into them and catch nothing.Thats why your getting bites but no fish. Those bait fish mouthes are only big enough the bite the tail,I've foul hooked a few though.I'm always looking for mullet jumping.I'm not saying that specks and reds don't hang around these schools of bait I just have better luck with mullet around or both.

redfish magic spinnerbait, rapala x-rap jerkbait, gulp jerk shads, will get you started for sure on reds and trout.

From what I've seen, you really don't need to throw into where they are busting on baitfish, just in the general area. Get a bait within 10 feet of a feeding frenza, and, you'll catch fish.
When you say you see fish busting all around you, are you sure they arent mullet? Sounds like It would help to fish with other people, at least a few times....

I've noticed these bait busting all around as well and I think they are just menhaden feeding and most of the time nothing is chasing them it's just them eating
