Had my first success on a gold spoon today as well - was a breakthrough for me since I have read they work but hadn't had the success to get the confidence to throw them more, till today.

Grats on your fish, those are nice ones!!

https://www.acmetackle.com/products/...nt=46922975686 https://www.acmetackle.com/products/...t=918295412742 Try these spoons in the smaller sizes like 1/5, 2/5 and 1/3 oz. Don't sleep on the silver versions. Trout seem to like the silver and some days reds even hit the silver over the gold.

Those Sidewinders are my favorite spoons in the sound grass. Thanks for the link, they can be hard to find locally.

I throw topwater walkers all day from light to 2pm and usually have success with reds and trout throughout the day even in full sunlight. The issue with most is they stop fishing on top after 8 or 9 so of course no fish are caught. Last time out I took the PA14 and had some of my best trout 2-4 lbs and redfish 25-26" on the walker around 1pm. That day it was dead in the early despite a good tide and picked up around 10:15 till after 1. I release all my fish so you can catch them as well.

They travel the flats and can be caught very shallow and on the weed edge in 6-7 ft. Best to mark your catches as waypoints and you may see some areas that produce better. I catch 90% of my reds within 200 yards of each other. Good luck.
