Default Inlet beach trip

I am heading to inlet beach near Rosemary August 1st-8th and I am looking to do some fishing. I know there is some natural bottom out from the beach and have a kayak I am bringing with me. I am also interested in going to the eastern side of the Choctawhatchee Bay(because it is relatively close). I checked out a chart and hogtown bayou looks decent because it has some grass and oyster beds. Is east Choctawhatchee worth it this time of year? I would love to get on some reds but I also would like to actually get on some fish and not just paddle around. I would love some feedback if anyone has any suggestions.

google "destin area boat ramps". its a map with good info on public launch sites all over this area. there is a very good one at the entrance to the "ditch", or ICW, at the far east end of the bay that has several miles of quiet water and marshes, good fishing. Or north end of the 331 bridge, several bayous on the west side (lagrange, mullet) that usually hold reds and trout around the shore. go early no matter what as the heat this time of year will drive the fish into deep holes after 9am or so until near sunset. Gulf has lots of close in bottom if you are experienced, if not, go with a guide. Storms can pop up quickly this time of year and offshore is no fun when that hapens. Good luck

Thanks for the info I am going to definitely give it a try. Fishing over by the marshes sounds great. If it isn't too windy I will have to bust out the fly rod

For eastern Choctaw bay you can access it through the baytowne marina. Hogtown is one of my favorite wade fishing areas(profile pic was taken there).

Keep us up to date on inlet/rosemary beach. I have heard the same thing but i am without a kayak.
