Default have: 17'6" flats boat. need: experienced first mate.

Hi everyone-

I'm in town for a week, and i have my boat in the water near ft.pickens, ready for use at any hour, day or night. I think I'm rigged pretty well, with a combination of spinners, baitcasters, and a fly rod. Reading reports here, i stocked up on mr17's, zara spooks, gold spoons, swimbaits, and clousers. I have 1 heavier rod for live/dead bait.

I was born here, and spent the summers here on the bay throughout my childhood, so i know the water well. I can select times and places to fish pretty well, I think, but i could use a more experienced hand to help get the fish on.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

I've been out all over the place for many hours the last few days to little avail. Still great to be on the water. My best opportunity would have been last evening into night, but i took the family out for a sunset cruise instead. Pretty rough out there right now. Hoping it'll return to flat conditions this evening.

Ive tried spooks and swim baits on the docks at sunset, bottom fishing cigar minnows at 3mb and the drop off near deer point at midday, flats and docks around deer point with a gold spoon or mr17 late afternoon. I'll try again tonight starting at sunset, but with the new moon it's pretty dark fast.

spent at least 40 hours in the boat over 7 days, most with lines in the water. all i have to show for it was 2 barely slot trout caught in the dock lights at night. (cheating). really could have used some guidance. read the forum religiously for 2 weeks and did the best i could to emulate...

Bummer. Were you able to get on grass flats?
