Default Gulf Shores Help

I usually pull my boat down and fish big lagoon over to Ft. Pickens. However, we're coming down with some friends to go to the shrimp festival and won't have the boat.

Can anyone give some pointers on spots my buddy and I can fish around Gulf Shores - on foot? Also, where is the Dixie sandbar or pass that I've heard about?

Any help appreciated.

I'd try west pass on either tide with live shrimp. I'll bet keeper specks and reds would be caught. Drag it slow on the bottom and probably score on flounder.

Where is the Dixie Bar? Is this someplace I can get to on foot? I've always heard of this spot for reds.

Dixey Bar is at the point of Fort Morgan Peninsula. The trick there is to drift over the drop offs. On the south side it drops from 4-8ft, drift a live croaker on the bottom over them on a mild day and they will usually murder them.

Any good 'by foot' access to flats for wading or good trout spots?
