Default Fri night. 3 MB or further down the bay?

I plan on taking my nephew out Friday evening in my skiff. I had planned on going out in the middle of the bay somewhere and soaking some big baits for a shark and put out some lighter rigs to kill time. After reading the 3 mile reports and the white trout tutorial, I may try to anchor there like Tom mentioned and fish there. I am not really looking for anything in particular, just tighten some lines. I have some Bonita and king fillets in the freezer and some squid. I may even pick up some of those new fangled paddle tails at Outcast beforehand. What do you guys think, hang out by the bridge or out in the middle of the bay. Would like to have a decent chance at a shark though.

there is alot of baby shark at 3 mile right now so if you want a biggin your gonna have to make it through the little fellas! Plenty of white trout and reds to be had!

Non stop action last Sat night at 3mb. I like the East side of the bridge, GB side. Over top of the old rubble down there! Reds, Lady fish, monster size pinfish, white trout, croakers, sail cats and a few cut offs

Jaster, after seeing your post, that is what got me thinking about going to three mile. Lots of action may be more fun than couple big sharks if we are lucky. We will still put out shark baits there. Any other suggestions anyone? I will report back if the weather lets us get out.

I had out a shark bait as well. So much redfish action, it was getting in the way, lol. Good luck

Looks like you've got some good suggestions on techniques and baits to try. Only thing I'd like to add is that if you anchor up and fish for about 20-30min without catching anything, don't feel like you have to stick it out all night in that spot. Don't be afraid to pick up and move!

Sometimes the fish are eating up and down the bridge, and other times they're more concentrated. All depends on conditions and sometimes you have to keep moving till you find them.

Good luck!
Alex
