Default Fresh, peeled shrimp

I know people use shrimp in the surf for pomps and other things. Are shrimp good in the bay for things like Reds and trout?

Shrimp is probably the BEST dead bait out there. Live is even better.

No need to peel it for anything except Pompano.

The problem with shrimp (live or dead) is that virtually EVERYTHING will eat it. You'll catch a LOT of catfish, lizard fish, pinfish, etc.

If everything else doesn't get to it first, dead shrimp works. In the bay though, I'd leave the shell on. Lasts longer and the specks, reds don't mind.

Thanks for the replys. I have been getting tons of hardhead and sting rays so i was just wondering if it was worth it to use anywhere but the surf.

Still waiting on my first red. I know its coming!

I disagree about dead live yes. Way back in the day I would have said HECK YEA! But I believe squid is the best dead. I am talking about "good" dead squid. Just my .2.
