What type of fish are you targeting?

My first recomendation would be to move to a smaller hook I would think a 1 or 1/0 if you are fishing for trout or redfish.

The two types of rigs I use most are a fishfinder/Carolina rig or I would say a cajunthunder/popping cork type rig.Fishing the Carolina rig around structure is generally pretty productive if you can find a area that has a couple of feet of water over grass i would use the popping cork set up with live shrimp. You could do a search on here to find both rigs if you are not familiar.

well if u put in at jims and ur boat can float shallow water you are missing out on amazing red fish, i fish that area 3 times a week atleast and i have produced alot of fish on the right tides...try fishing the shallows were theres structure on a clam day throw jigs or spoons, if you like fishing the bridge if ur on the North side of the Inerstate look west and there a inlet called mulat bayou there are plenty of fish in there you juss have to find them, follow the channel in there once your in there there is plenty of water plus there a boat ramp right there in the bayou call Archers boat ramp I think way closer of a run to the brigde with gas prices the way they are. Note aslong as ur an experieced boater there is more than enough water for any boat you can put in at jims

I fish for sheeps at the trestle/innerstate a lot. There are some small sheeps out there, but the larger ones have been showing up. I would definately use a smaller hook. I prefer a 1 or a 1/0 as well. Shrimp are a good bait for sheeps, but i seem to have better luck on fiddlers. The sheeps love em.

#4 is smaller than a #1 or 1/0.
