Default Few questions about what braid to use for shark fishing?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering what is the IB braid you would racomend for shark fishing? Currently I have a penn battle 6000 spooled with 50 IB power pro. But fishing last night there was a strong current got snagged under a boat and lost 100 or more yards of line so not I'm looking to getting some more braid. I'm assuming anything about 40IB should be fine. I mainly going for reds and sharks. Any advise would help.

You should be fine with 50-80 lb braid. I bottom fish from a kayak and we've landed 6-7 ft sharks on 50-65 lb braid and 40-60 lb flouro leaders. Sharks are more of nuisance for us so we don't fish wire leaders unless we're trolling for kings.
