I've used the aetos and like it, but honestly don't feel I got more out of it than my HMGs. I love the HMGs, they're hands down my favorite inshore sticks and make up most of my arsenal now.

I was leader of the Bass fishing team at my college the past few years, we we're sponsored by fenwick (and all of pure fishing) for a couple years. I had a HMG, and 4 Aetos, also a Eagle GT spinning reel. I love my Aetos but honestly I like the HMG more. It is by far my favorite rod and the one I always reach for. These were casting rods though, have only had the $100 and less spinning rods. The Aetos are a little lighter and the split grips are nice. I believe the new HMG's handles have a smaller diameter than in the past though (don't hold me to it, been out of the game for a year or two now)
