Default Double Duty

I have a Penn Squidder with a Tiburon frame that I use for surf fishing. It's spooled with 20 lb test mono. I want to respool with braid so I can use this for light shark fishing as well. I still need to keep the castability so I was thinking 65 - 80 lb braid. Can I run straight braid or do I need a mono topshot?

FYI you can do a search on PFF for previous posts related to most topics that you can possibly think of and a few that would never cross your mind in your wildest substance induced haze. Here's a few to get you started, welcome to the forum. You would probably benefit a lot getting together with some of the Shark aficionados on the forum.
