Lived there for years...
Great fishing there... Heading south in the intercoastal from Pt.Orange, the ICW splits... take the western leg... You will soon come up on tributaries/estuaries flowing from the west... head up in there... skinny water. We had a spot that took a motor up and cautious entrance that wouldn't work below half high tide... In several of the bends, you will find NICE holes! One we loved to anchor on was 100 or so feet in diameter and the beer often got hot as you were too busy fighting fish...

Flounder and reds were common but there are plenty of stingray and cats too...

The Tomoka River is the main place we would head west on, I think it was the first southern turn we headed into and the hole was where the river headed back west...

http://ocsdata.ncd.noaa.gov/BookletC...art_HomeEd.pdf
This booklet is the one to have for the Halifax area I speak of Bottom of page 17 the whole "rosebay" area is nearly a super shallow area and the river system I initially mentioned is just south of that, it even shows the finger that spurs off to the south where we fished holes...
I am pm'ing my number to you for further details...
