Default Dauphin Island/Mobile area charters

I will be staying on Dauphin Island in July and we are looking for a charter recommendation for inshore or offshore.

Also, are there any places you can walk in and wade fish on the island? Is surf fishing any good during July?

Thanks

The whole sound side and the area around Katrina cut are wadeable. If you are looking for inshore charter then bobby abruscato and janno serra both work out of the DI Marina. I have fished with Dan Kolenich out of the grand hotel on the eastern shore. Pick up a copy of Coastal Angler and you will see more names as well as what to fish for. The Lady Ann leaves from DI Marina. If you rent a Kayak from the Marina the shoals are easy to reach and you can fish the docks at night.

Bobby Abruscato has a pretty good reputation around these parts. However do your homework and ask them questions because some of these charters are die hard for catch and release on certain species. So if your looking to fill the cooler with fish I would look for a charter who will be happy to do that for you.

I'll put in a plug for Yano Serra. While I have not fished with him personally, I have met him and have referred several friends from out of town and they all highly recommend, and plan to fish with him again. Don't know Bobby Abruscato but he has quite a name in the region as well. I don't think you would go wrong with either.
