You can use fish carcasses, chicken rib bones, any meat scraps should work.

Default Grocery Outlet?

sometimes the grocery outlet has pieces of chicken that it doesn't put out in the cooler but if you ask you might get lucky. be sure to freeze it before you use it. and freeze it in the shape of the bait holder so it will fit. good luck

I haven't been crabbing here yet but I grew up on the Chesapeake so I do know a thing or two about it. Chicken necks/fish carcass will work for a one time use. If you are going more than once, go get bull lips. They are a lot tougher and can be reused. I usually made on set last all season. Any butcher shop should have them.

In Louisiana the crabbers use mullet. As they are not a human staple over there. Full of mud they are.

I've used turkey necks and fish carcasses as well as chicken.
