Default Choctawhatchee Bay

Got some family coming to Destin for a week next weekend, and I'm gonna pull the skiff over and stay a few days to fish with my uncle. They're staying in Sandestin, so we'll definitely hit up Hogtown Bayou... and anywhere else that looks fishy.

Anybody got any tips for fishing the area? Is it worth it to catch some live bait? I'm also looking to do a little sight fishing. This is my first boat (Mitzi 16) and I haven't tried poling it yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing how many times I fall off the platform. LOL

Also, this might be a dumb question but... I've never fished for cobia, but I seem to recall watching a show (Flats Class or Addictive Fishing) where they caught them in Tampa Bay. Do they ever make it into the bays around here?

Thanks in advance.

Fishing areas, all of Hogtown and this, follow the line. Lots-o poling.
And , yes cobia do show up in the bay.
Live bait never hurts unless you use up 1/2 day trying to catch em.
