Default Bucktails

Was just curious if anyone uses bucktails for inshore fishing? If so is it geared towards a more certain species such as flounder or do they work on any inshore fish.

Most anything you use a jig head for can be done with a buck tail if you like losing three times as much money each time you break one off :/ Bull reds are all I ever really targeted with them, and I tried to find flounder with em and failed.

I use them a good bit in the surf but not a lot inshore. They are more prone to snags and most inshore places I fish can be snaggy.

Yea I priced them and they look pretty expensive. Guess I will stick to popping cork and DOA shrimp or paddle tails on jigheads. I have a chrome rattle trap that I have been wanting to try.

Over Louisiana way a common rig, is a dual rig off a swivel with a bucktail and a trailing bull minnow. They seem to catch a bunch of fish looking at their posts.

I use them sometimes for locating fish inshore. I usually tip them with a curly tail or small paddle tail and some pro cure scent. Pin fish and small trout will try bite the tail off the curly tails, that's when I follow up with a mr-17 and have beeno pretty successful doing that. But the will hang up in grass as any jig head does. 1/4 spro flats jig
