Default ARS in the Bay?

I'm new to the area and saw some threads with ARS caught in the bay? Is this a common catch? I just moved here from Chiefland and fished the Suwannee area. We had to run 30 miles to find 50 feet of water. I'm looking forward to saving fuel and fishing in the area. I also read where kings frequent the bay. I can't wait. my old king spots where 8 miles offshore in 15' of water. I'm done rambling. Maybe I'll have a report on here soon.

Absolutely ARS in Pensacola Bay and an occasional gag!

There are some folk on here that catch them routinely. I don't think they fish those spots with boats in view though. Once you find some spots though, rumor is, you better go lite with the line and weight.

I know a local guide that trolls for grouper with stretch 25's and we caught a keeper when I went with him. You can also catch them dragging live bait when you pass their holes- done that too. Got a keeper. Watch the regs though- don't want to kill a fish if it is not in season. Probably get a ticket- not worth it.
