Default Archie glover/trout bayou

Thinking of taking the boat out tomorrow and launching at Archie Glover. I've heard trout bayou is pretty productive right now, but I've never been there. Any tips on trout bayou? I got a dozen or so live finger mullet but not sure how I should fish them yet since I don't get to take the boat out much. My boat is tiny so it can get in shallow water easily. Thanks for any help.

No secrets - fish the points, drop offs, and structure.

It is shallow getting in and someone recently redid the "markers" leading into trout bayou.

No real reason to leave Mulat this time of year IMO. Trout Bayou is a great area to, but pretty small in comparison to Mulat. I agree with what 60hertz said, points, ledges are your best bets. Free lining a finger mullet shallow is also a great way to fish in the bayous.

Thanks! I've never been in there so I wasn't sure what to expect. I may stick in mulat, though, it just seems kinda busy so I wasn't sure. My experience fishing in bayous like this is extremely limited with a boat. I've always been stuck on land or wading waiting for the fish to show up. My fishfinder apparently decided to stop being waterproof at some point so now it has a mind of it's own, but I do remember kinda where it gets deep in mulat.

Did pretty good at the train tracks, just white trout, about 10 in 2 hours with a lot of misses. All of them were around a foot give or take. Saw a huge speck boil on some baitfish but couldnt get him interested in anything I had. Caught 1 trout on a floated finger mullet, the rest on copper penny gulp shrimp on a jighead

Also, my boat trailer broke. I knew it was rusty but had no idea it was that bad. I didn't even notice it till I was coming back to load up and the trailer is sitting in almost a v shape. To the guys that suggested using a piece of wood, of you're reating this I wanted to say thanks it worked well enough to limp it home. I put a 6ft long 4x4 under the length of the trailer (it broke at the Y), then ziptied the crap out of it and put a huge screw in hose clamp on each end.

So now I'm looking for a new trailer, 14ft galvanized.

You can check out Eddie English trailers off of hwy 90. He might be able to help you out.
